This symposium held in conjunction with the opening of the Nicolai Fechin Centennial Exhibition at the Montana Historical Society in Helena on June 15, 1981 considers the life of this Russian-American artist; the breadth of his work; and a series of photographs depicting Fechin's use of color and texture. Speakers include Robert Archibald; Rick Newby; Fechin's biographer, Mary Balcomb; and the artist's daughter Eya Fechin Branham.
